The 2004 Cabernet has a beautiful bright ruby rim with a dark core. The wine features soft aromatics with baked berry, cocoa and rich black plum. The entry is smooth, lush and layered with black fruit and dark chocolate, while the finish is long and powerful. The 2005 Showket Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon might be the most complex wine they have ever released. The vintage gave them perfectly ripe Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, so they increased the percentage of the Cabernet Franc to 15% and it shows in the finished wine. In addition to their hallmark black berry and cassis aromatics this vintage shows hints of violets, tobacco and cedar from the additional Cabernet Franc. On the palate it is very round and seductive. It starts with a lively grip and gains size and depth as it opens up. It will be a perfect compliment to hearty dishes, but can also stand on its own. The 2005 Showket Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is truly an exceptional wine.
